June 22nd, 2011

An engagement ring is probably the most significant and important jewellery purchase that a couple will make in their lifetime. With all that time, thought and expense, you’ll want to be sure that you’re purchasing the right ring. After all, it is the ultimate symbol of commitment that will be worn every day for a lifetime. If you’ve visit hundreds of jewellery shops and still not found the perfect ring, then you may want to consider custom engagement rings.

At first, designing your own ring can be a little intimidating. A good starting point is to look at diamond engagement rings in shops and magazines to find styles that you like and you think will suit you. You can then choose aspects of every ring you like to create one perfect ring. This ring could be made from any precious metal you like and contain any size, shape and colour of diamonds that you prefer.

When you choose to purchase a custom engagement ring, you have to bear in the mind that it will take longer than buying a pre-made ring. You should therefore make sure that you allow enough time for your ring to be made. When you have chosen a designer and decided upon a style you like, it could take a few weeks for your ring to be completed.

A custom engagement ring is the perfect choice for a couple looking for something unique and special. They contain a sentiment that will last for a lifetime.

Extravagant Appeal in Conservative Style

March 21st, 2011

With many fashion houses strongly featuring elements of conservative style in their autumn winter collections it is evident that the traditional finely tailored suit, waistcoat and necktie combination will continue to have extravagant appeal.

Funky fashion designers have sought to push the boundaries of accepted men’s fashion in recent years with wacky suit, jacket and shirt designs. But what remains is their commitment to the basic principles of men’s conservative style.

Paying close attention to detail, a finely tailored suit, combined with a crisp white shirt, a fitted waistcoat and smart necktie and cufflinks will always appeal. Garish novelty ties and glitzy cufflinks should be avoided and replaced by quality plain silk ties and cufflinks.

A two or three-buttoned suit, in a classic Italian or American cut, is the most versatile and sophisticated garment you can have in your wardrobe. Adopting a conservative style will help you focus on acquiring essential pieces with muted color palettes to ensure successful combinations. Invest in good quality plain colored crisp shirts and plain knitwear. Make sure you have a pair of dark colored, smart lace up shoes. These items are classic in their design and practical for almost any outfit.

Many women would agree that men who opt for the conservative style look intelligent, refined, of a high class, and know how to dress. A return to the traditional has proven to be a success with many men affirming they feel confident wearing smarter, good fitting clothes. It can be suggested that the appeal of this style is as much to do with the fit of the clothes as well as the perception of the person that is wearing it. Conservative is cool. Stars such as Sean Diddy Combs, Brad Pitt and George Clooney influenced by Hollywood in its heyday, are renowned for their commitment to traditional conservative garments.

Although the amount of qualified men’s tailors has decreased, it is still possible to find some outstanding craftsmen in Saville Road, London, New York, Hong Kong and Italy. These tailors retain the traditional skills of suit-making and often combine their knowledge with alternative textiles to give conservative wear a new twist.

The waistcoat has seen a revival in recent years for both men and women. While also worn as formal office wear, fashion designers have separated this from the three piece suit and combined it with casual shirts and loose fitting ties and jeans to give a modern take on the traditional.

Tweed flat caps have also seen a return, referred to as a golfing cap. It has gained an upper class image in recent years with actors such as Samuel L Jackson and Brad Pitt making it popular. In addition, Guy Ritchie gave appeal to the country gent look by combining his flat cap with brogues and even jodhpurs.

With fashion fads coming and going every year, it is predicted that conservative fashion, largely due to its versatility and positive associations with affluence and success, will continue to have endless appeal.

Cottage Style Clothing

March 21st, 2011

When it comes to clothes and fashion, cottage style generally refers to vintage fabrics and floral designs. Softer colors and hues are also used here. Moreover, cottage style of clothing can be elegant or shabby. It really depends on the piece. At the present, cottage style is hip and trendy. You can actually see clothes inspired by this trend on popular celebrities and fashion models. If you like this panache, you can search for them online. The Internet offers the widest range of this type of clothing. Hundreds of sellers from all around the globe may have the piece that you are looking for. Nonetheless, you may also look in boutiques and mall.

A cottage style dress in pastel colors is perfect for a typical day out. If you are going to a picnic, to a restaurant, or to a casual party, you can wear a short one with floral prints. You can wear it with a pair of pumps or heels. You can also wear it with a pair of ballet flats if you prefer more comfortable footwear. Cottage style dresses are also perfect for the summer season. They are light and flowing. They are usually made of thin fabric to keep you fresh and clean-looking. You may even wear one while walking at the beach with a beautiful straw hat on your head. Since these dresses are usually made of cotton and other light materials, you will be able to move around freely and comfortably.

Cottage style dresses and skirts instantly add flair to a wardrobe. If you are very feminine and you love to look elegant and sophisticated, this style is just right for you. The clothes that fall under this category may be simple, but they blend well with almost any accessory. You can wear them with belts, hats, earrings, and necklaces. On the other hand, if you are a shabby kind of chic and you prefer rougher cottage style, you may wear a dress with ruffles and tattered layers. This dress will be perfect for any casual meetings and parties. It is also ideal to be worn on dates and get-togethers. If you have a fair complexion, brown and other earth shades will look great on you.

Nevertheless, before you buy any piece of garment, you should always check if it is right for you. Be wary of unfair sellers. Also, it is a good idea to measure your body prior to placing orders on the Internet. Obviously, you will not be able to touch and scrutinize items online, so you really have to be thorough with your decisions. Cottage style apparel may look wonderful, but you will not be able to wear them if they do not fit you.

Celebrities, Designer Dresses and Latest Fashion Forecast For 2009

March 20th, 2011

Chic Tough Girl Looks, Military Influences, and Seductive Jumpsuits rule the Runway.

The New Year is barely in the door and we are already looking to our favorite celebrities to show us how to make this our best year in Fashion yet. Anne Hathaway is a celebrity style icon in the making already, with her raven hair and creamy skin. With her fashion break out role in The Devil Wear Prada, the public took notice of her expressive appearance. While recently in the pages of Vogue and InStyle magazines, she resonates in Versace, Thakoon, and Marchesa. Her casual side is appealing to many as well, having been photographed in a military influenced jacket. This Sergeant Pepper inspired look will be hot in 2009, and will be seen in electric blue, orange, and red, in addition to the more traditional look of black or olive. Pair with form fitting pants, boots, and a simple t-shirt. The fashion accessories can be pared down as shiny metallic buttons will festoon across the jackets. Piles of metal chains will be your ideal accessory choice for a plain shirt.

Love her or hate her, Victoria Beckham will continue to rule the fashion world, with the fashionistas waiting hungrily for her next hair style or statement. A fashion brand herself, she will continue to reinvent her own look of elegant flamboyance style. Look to Victoria to be the enduring face of high glamour, as anything worth leaving the house for should be dressed for. Body skimming, elegant dresses with an element of exaggeration are her forte, like the black Dolce dress she wore recently in Dubai. Look for Victoria to also influence the menswear look with her seductive take on wearing high waisted, fluid moving pants that are hot off designer runway. The new soft silhouette of pants will be worn in various lengths this year from chic cropped styles to the floor skimming variety, and topped with smart jackets, feminine blouses, and knits.

While it was recently reported that she hates the words “boho chic”, Kate Hudson is certainly an influence for it. Her laid back California way of dressing makes her look a favorite to women of all ages. She embodies comfort, with a fashion style. Kate’s take on combining patterns, color, and a an easy aesthetic will rule many closets this year – think dresses by Marc by Marc Jacobs, Prada, and M Missoni. Missoni knits feature an incredible weave of colors that give only a nod to the boho look and make knits the comfortable choice. Natasha Leratti offers an affordable knit look at her latest fashion designer collection website, in a citrus kissed yellow mini dress, accented by the ever popular black and white.

As a new celebrity who dresses the celebrities, Rachel Zoe’s own style has taken storm due to her reality show. One can’t miss the larger than life luxurious fur vests she favors, paired with skirts or skinny jeans. While she favors vintage, her look has an exotic flair that evokes a Russia meets West Coat influence. Strong prints in rich colors, chunky knits, and bold jewelry are the staple of her look. We will look to her to show us how to mix unusual textures and prints. Rachel is a perfect example of being able to dress high-low by taking a vintage $2000 Chanel gown and mixing it with a $98 faux fur vest from The Limited. Not only is her look fun and fresh, it inspires our inner designer to take risks in mixing styles.

Tough Girl or Biker Chic will edge its way back in, due to the strong women it evokes. The rock style looks of Rihanna and Pink brings their influence to a look that can be dressed up or down. Rihanna will be a style setter for this year with her stunning good looks and cutting edge fashion style. Her sweet smile accentuates her glam rocker appeal. Little black dresses are topped off with edgy fitted jackets that offer zippers, rips, and a sharper structure. While leather seems like an obvious choice, look for unusual takes on the jacket that include fitted knit sweaters over skinny black pants and boots. Leather pants and thigh high boots are creating a tough but glam look. Studded accents on designer handbags or boots are offset with shiny sequins to bring in a feminine touch. A Balenciaga Biker Bag may set you back thousands of dollars for this look, but consider checking out leratti.com to find her take on new and vintage designer handbags to suit this look.

While it may take awhile for this trend to gain steam, many celebrities have been photographed wearing the new jumpsuit. Kate Hudson, Scarlett Johannsen, and Rosario Dawsen have been seen adding their touch to this retro look. Chunky belts, long chains, and miles of bangles add spunk and glamour to an otherwise simple style. Look for silky, flowy materials that accentuate movement, and show subtle glimpses of skin. Styles will be long or cropped, and will be set off with sexy high heels or boots. The jumpsuit can be dressed down for day, or up for cocktail hour, and may prove to have a versatile ability for the modern women. Look for spring neutrals to bring a safari -tinged feel to the style.

Whoever your style icon may be, develop your own sense of style. Natasha Leratti is a Miami based High End Fashion Designer with a cutting edge vibe and distinct sense of style.

Young Fashion Bloggers

March 19th, 2011

The world of fashion is intriguing for most women no matter the age. But today’s fashion bloggers seem to be getting younger and younger. Age seems to be an unimportant matter as their blogs have thousands of visitors on a daily basis.

Somewhere outside Dallas, more specifically in Trophy Club, Texas one addictive fashion blogger has launched her personal page called “Sea of Shoes”. Jane Aldrige was only 16 when she started her own blog that is part shopping list/ wish-list and part fashion and style diary. Jane complains that most of her friends don’t understand her style and that they are sometimes embarrassed to go out with her. With a mother that was once a model and has started her own fashion business in Tokyo, you can say that Jane isn’t exactly the ordinary Texas girl.

Some of the outfits she poses in are actually worthy of catwalks and would make many young girls very proud to wear them. As she actually says, Jane has a passion for shoes which she says she collects and stores on shelves like small prizes. The boom of personal style/fashion blogs has created an Internet hysteria as the “Sea of shoes” alone has 70.000 visitors a day.

Another important figure in the teen fashion blog is Tavi Gevinson. She has also captured the attention of Teen Vogue among other fashion magazines (just like Jane has). Tavi started her fashion blog “Style Rookie” when she was just 13 years old. And it can be stated that the girl has a strong interest in fashion because even a designer would find interesting some of the items that she presents on the blog.

The world of fashion revolves around the passion for clothes and for accessories and most of the young fashion bloggers keep sending out a clear idea for all the teenagers out there: It is not that important what you wear as long as you wear it with style. This seems to be a very good point, choosing the clothes that best fit you will make you look wonderful!

Fashion and Teenagers

March 18th, 2011

The Teenage Years represent the transition period into adulthood. Teens start to develop their independence and unique opinions about life’s issues. The fashion trend has changed quite a bit from the days when Indians set up tents in the United States of America. When it comes to shopping, teens like to choose their own clothes and fashions at this time of their life. Sometimes teens and parents agree which clothes to purchase, sometimes they disagree.

Teenage years may be called “Acne Years”. These years can turn into nightmares which many times continue into adulthood. Many products are available without bringing the desired results. We have the products that will eliminate these nightmares.

Helpful in developing identity

Some teen fashion statements are going to be crazy but they might be bearable. If you come upon something that actually covers them, make sure you give them a good eye roll. That might encourage them to wear that style. You might think it looks funny, but at least they are covered. That should be your main concern. You can lay down the law when you see teen fashion that seems to be too revealing, but you may be encouraging them in that direction.

Though teen fashion comes and goes and you can expect the main purpose of these fashions is to make sure they dress nothing like their parents. Teens have a strong need to set their own style, and figure out what their own identity is aside from their parents. That’s a perfectly normal part of growing up, and if a parent does not roll their eyes just a little when the see teen fashions, those teens are going to be confused and they may try something else. That might be a good thing to keep in mind.

Teens have a greater selection of clothes than ever. From running pants and bottoms and outerwear, juniors styles, and jeans, teen clothing and active wear is a great way to live your youth.

Hollywood Fashion

March 18th, 2011

Other than fashion, there is another art form that captures our attention and manages to obsess us with other people’s stories and adventures; I am talking about the 7th art, film. In this industry, fashion plays a major role, whether in the characters who convert themselves in trendsetters, or the trendsetters that inspire a film or one of its characters. Some films marked a tendency or introduced a new accessory or style wore by an acclaimed fashion icon.

Costume design in fashion is one of the most important categories nowadays for different awards like the Academy Awards; it takes creativity and patience to work with a whole wardrobe and fashion sense for a film. It established an identification point between the actors and the public.

Casablanca is a classic film where we are still often transported to by fashion. For men it wasn’t an ordinary suit but one made by Burberry which popularized the brand even more. Classic and conservative spy-like fashion will always embrace the feeling of the fashion style in this movie.

Marlon Brando also popularized the leather jacket, jeans and white t-shirt look in The Wild One, just like James Dean also did around that time. It was the representation of rebellious guys in the 50′s which is still used today by millions. This outfit is still a fashion hit and has been adapted to our actual time.

The little black dress is still the favorite among fashionista film buffs today. Breakfast at Tiffany’s was the whole representation of this look by Audrey Hepburn with her elegance and femininity, obviously achieved by Givenchy. Her oversized sunglasses, oversize hats, classy trench-coat, pearls and ballerina flats are still favorites in fashion worldwide.

Men’s fashion in women is not an original style of the 90′s; it was reborn from Wody Allen’s Annie Hall in the 70′s. Her look was a New York icon, as feminine as it was masculine, vests, men’s pants, jackets, ties, suspenders and hats were the bestsellers in women’s fashion in the late 70′s.

Recently The Devil wears Prada showed us the power of the fashion industry in a place like New York City. This film inspired everyone to have their very own Cinderella makeover.

Obviously Sex and the City has been a Pop Culture fashion icon, starting out as a TV Series and now a Box Office Hit movie. These characters popularized Diane Von Furstenberg’s wrap dress, Marc Jacobs’ suits and Manolo Blahnik stilettos. Another type of movie that goes along this category of Pop Culture is Clueless with L.A Fashion at its best in the early 90′s.

As of popular actors who are considered trendsetters, we can find Sarah Jessica Parker, as well as Jennifer Lopez whose glamour and elegance in the red carpet makes anyone want to run and buy a Valentino or a Balenciaga formal dress. These two have even gone further and understood that their styles should be available for anyone and they have their own fashion line at retail stores.
